Work, home, and projects.

September came and went. I love the drop in temperature, the change in leaves, and all the fall festivities. The month included a week off from work to work on projects, clean the house, and relax. The time is ticking and large deadlines are approaching. I have set aside many of the smaller projects so I can focus intensely on getting my first novel published.

It’s been a challenge in the last few years. I have been an assistant nurse manager that requires a 40-hour work week with four overnight shifts. That’s my full-time main source of income. But anyone who works over night can tell you there are several pros to the night shift and also the cons of being constantly tired, interruptions during the day, and not having the time during the week to relax, work on much of my projects, or even have a cool-down period after work. Usually after work is a get home, let the dogs out, eat something small, shower and get to bed as soon as I could to ensure the most amount of sleep.

On top of work, there are family and friend obligations, clean and daily chores around the house, and being 20 weeks pregnant had been and still is exhausting. Finding the balance between work, responsibilities, projects, and time for myself has been a goal of mine for a while, and I don’t know exactly how to achieve it.

So I dedicate the little time I have over the weekend to home, prepping for the next week, and projects. Since I have very little time to really devote to projects, I am fire focusing. My first novel needs to come out, or at least have a pre-order out before I give birth. I do not have children at the moment. Having the child means the world to me, but I also know it will leave me with even less time for projects. I’m hoping to find motivation in the publication of #ProjectForgotten, which will allow me to begin work on the next project. If I don’t complete it, it may never occur. I am at the point of a now or never precipice. So keep it simple and fire-focused.

#Project Forgotten during September, although I didn’t get as far as I wanted to in the professional edits. I edited up to chapter 9.

October. During this month, I want to finish the remaining 21 chapters. I also need to make my publishing house a legit LLC so that I can set up the vendor, and purchase ISBNs under the publisher’s name.

StellarwolfPublishing.com. I posted the blog post for the August update and, being written currently, the September update.

October. To write and post the October update.

The concentration and small amount of tasks to be completed during the month, amongst the spooky season, parties and other fun festivities. What’s on your agenda this month?
